The Feathered Horse Spring Classic held their inaugural event at the beautiful Calsonic Arena, Shelbyville, TN April 17-18, 2009.  We could not have asked for better weather!   The entire community of Shelbyville welcomed owners, spectators and trainers who traveled from all over to compete at the showgrounds that is home to the National Tennessee Walking Horse Celebration.

Villa Vanners, a Platinum Sponsor for this event, brought out 5 gorgeous stallions;  two Yearlings, Tequila & Bambi; and two mares Villa Vanner's Sky, and Villa Vanner's Sinead for the event.

Killian's Irish Red, a 4 Year Old Drum Stallion, now standing at stud to the public, showed off his beautiful moves for the delight of the crowd and judge and was named Supreme Drum Champion, in a follow-up to his title of 2008.   Killian claimed the blue ribbon titles in the Drum Horse Western Pleasure Walk Jog division; Drum Walk Favorite Gait Charity division to benefit Hoofbeats for Kids; Drum Horse English Pleasure Walk Trot; and Drum Horse Driving In Hand title.    Killian also claimed the Drum Horse Stallion In Hand title; the Drum Horse Color class; and Drum Horse Showmanship division.

Welcome to Villa Vanners
Welcome to Villa Vanners!

Life is tranquil here in the small farming community of Dandridge, Tennessee, and time moves more slowly, it seems, than in other parts of the country.

Our Gypsy Vanners, with their loving hearts and quiet demeanor, fit perfectly into this magical setting. If this isn't heaven then it is the closest thing to it on this earth. We feel blessed to have these wonderful horses who are more like family to us than possessions. We know that you will fall in love with these horses as we have.

Enjoy your visit & check back often as we update our site to share the love of the Gypsy Vanner Breed.

Best Regards,
June Villa, Villa Vanners

Our Mission

The primary concern of Villa Vanners is the health and happiness of our horses -- their mental health, as well as their physical well-being. All of the horses here at Villa Vanners, including the brood mares, will be trained in the discipline that best suits them. We believe that all beings, animals and humans, are happiest when they are excelling at something, and when they feel as though they have a purpose. We work closely with our experienced trainers to have our horses' talents evaluated to discover what direction they should take in their training.

We also believe that a responsible breeder should always be aware of the heavy responsibility of bringing a life into the world. We will  select only a few mares each year to be the mothers of the next year's foals, because we want to be able to have a hands-on experience with each of the babies. We will give very careful thought to which stallions we breed to which mare to achieve the best possible outcome. We are not selling our foals for resale, but only to the most qualified homes where they will be loved as they are here.
